Ask your child what the word of the day is. Let them discuss the meaning with you!
Please sign the publicity release form that has gone home with your child. I want to start putting pictures of the fifth graders on the website. Your permission is needed in order to do that!
- Each child has received a chapter book from me for thier Book Club selection. They are expected to read this chapter book at home so that they can discuss it in class.
Reading at home is a necessity in order to do well in Reading class. Because of time restrictions there isn’t much time for silent reading of a self selected text. Reading will expand your child’s vocabulary, improve their decoding and fluency as well as enhance their comprehension skills. There are several students who are not turning in reading logs every Monday. Keep in mind that the missing logs result in zeroes.
